Studio Policy

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

A. Classification of Students is as follows:

• • Regular Students – those who are willing to keep a regular attendance of once or twice a week.

  • Irregular Students – those who cannot keep a regular attendance and wish to have a pay per lesson arrangement.

B. For Regular Students:

• • A choice of 4-lesson, 8-lesson and 12-lesson modules is offered. Lessons will run an hour long, once a week, with the day and time scheduled upon enrollment. Very Young Beginners (5-6 yrs.old) are advised to divide the hour twice a week due to their limited attention span.

  • Each module has to be completed within a specific time frame. Failure to do so will result in the forfeiture of any remaining lessons. The 4-lesson module has to be completed in 5 weeks max, allowing for 1 absence; the 8-lesson module in 10 weeks, and the 12-lesson module in 14 weeks, allowing for 2 absences. Note that these allowances are granted only for absences with a prior notice of at least 24 hours.

  • A 60-minute, twice a week arrangement requires a payment of 8 lessons to be completed in 5 weeks, 16 lessons to be completed in 10, or a payment of 24 lessons to be completed in 14 weeks. Again, the allowed extensions are granted only for absences with a prior notice of at least 24 hours.

  • Students are expected to show up to their lesson regularly and on time, with books and other pertinent materials on hand. Absences without a prior notice of at least 24 hours will result in the forfeiture of the lesson. Those who have given prior notice may arrange a make-up lesson within the maximum time frame of the enrolled module. Missed make-up lessons are also forfeited.

  • Make up lessons are scheduled during Studio Hours. Under no circumstances will TdK teach on a day-off. If the student finds no suitable hour available, resulting in the maximum time frame being reached, forfeiture of the lesson will commence.

  • Upon completion of a module, the student is given 7 days to re-enroll. Past that and the slot will be considered open for others to fill.

  • The studio reserves the right to expel a student for repeated violations of these terms and conditions.

C. For Irregular Students: Lessons are strictly by appointment only. Walk-ins will not be entertained. Cancellation must be done at least a day before the scheduled appointment. 

D. Students are occasionally videotaped playing a piece to track their progress. The videos are then uploaded on Youtube and cross-posted on TdK’s social sites and website for easy sharing. With the exception of a few used for advertising, the privacy setting of the videos is set to unlisted. Inform the teacher if you want your videos public or if you don’t want them shared.

E. FEES: To be paid on or before the start of each module. To avoid late payments, a reminder via text message/email will be sent before the start of the next module. The studio reserves the right to refuse to give lessons to those who forget to bring/send payment when due.
